Two Days Left

Well, two days left before the big run and well, I am definitely up for it. I went to pick up my number today and it all sunk in. Forty-two kilometers. Well, I am taking it easy for the weekend. My biggest fear was that I would catch one of those colds that hit you like a sack of potatos in Tokyo. So far, so good - knock on wood. A little wine tonight while I watch Tonari no Totoro with the kids. No cigars until I finish the race!

11 K today

Nice Sunday run. I could not get up at 7am, but headed out the door around 8 or so. A little windy but a decent weather. Did 10K in 50 minutes, with a couple of great 1K paces. Take it easy this week.

Sancho Panza Molinos SLM OCT 07

After a week in the humidor to acclimate, I decided to take the newest addition to my inventory out for test drive. The Molinos format is standard > lonsdale size: 42 X 6 1/2". Decent draw, we great pre-burn tastes. Subtle, yet sweet fruits and touches of woods. The burn was consistent if nothing else. Quick and full of smoke, I was able to take down to the nub G-boy style in under 45 minutes. Its not blowing you away like the earthy, full-bodied tones of a RA or coming at you like a bull the way a Montecristo No.2 does, but more subtle and light that is consistent all the way through. Kind of reminded me of the La Gloria No. 2 in some ways. An all around good smoke.

Sunday's Run - 20km

Ok. Did 20km today, which is one short than I wanted to do. Total time was 1:44. Not a bad pace and I certainly got out in front for the first 10K which was done in 50 minutes. Time is running out for the marathon. It hit me how hard it will be to run 42km, as the 2o km today was quite a bit.
